Pastel Studies

The earlier posts are all pastel studies, painted on wallis sanded paper, 8x10 matted to 16x20. I love pastels for their velvet texture and incredible colors. I like to paint in oils using the pastels for reference.

pastel sketches

Currently I'm working on some pastel sketches to later paint in oils. I'll post them as I finish each one.

I've been encouraged to do this so here I am with my own blog! I hope to play around with this for awhile before I really put myself out there and commit to posting on a regular basis. So far this is easy. I'll see how I feel about it in the morning....
